GCSE Outcomes

Notes:

  • ‘Progress 8’ is a way of measuring the progress that pupils make from the end of key stage 2 (the last year of primary school) to the end of key stage 4 (when they take GCSEs). The higher a pupil’s ‘Progress 8’ score, the more progress they have made in comparison with pupils who started at a similar level.
  • ‘Attainment 8′ is a measure published annually showing the average academic performance of a secondary school. It is calculated by adding together pupils’ highest scores across eight government-approved school subjects. Scores taken from across a school year group are averaged to produce a school’s overall score.

*It will not be possible to calculate the KS4 Progress 8 measure for academic years 2025 and 2026. This is because there is no KS2 baseline available to calculate the Progress 8 measure for these years due to Covid-19 disruption.
